A homeopathic consultation feels more like a friendly chat than a trip to the doctor. There is no physical examination required. You are encouraged to tell your own story, and then asked a series of questions, some of which may seem to be unrelated to your complaint - even a little odd. Rest assured that it will make sense to your homeopath.

Your remedy may not be given to you on the spot. Further consideration of the case is often required before prescribing from the hundreds of homeopathic medicines and potencies available to practitioners. You should be able to collect the remedy, or have it posted to you, within 3 working days.

You should allow an hour and a half for the first appointment and up to 45 minutes for subsequent visits. Plan to attend at least one follow-up visit 3 or 4 weeks later, so that your treatment can be properly assessed and altered if need be.

DURATION OF TREATMENT

Duration of treatment depends on several factors, but generally speaking the longer you have been suffering from symptoms, the longer they will take to disappear. Most problems can be resolved within a few visits. Some long-standing complaints may require ongoing treatment which will aim to ease pain and discomfort while working towards cure if possible.

PATIENT CONFIDENTIALITY

What transpires during the homeopathic consultation is treated as confidential. Casenotes are coded and do not contain identifying personal details. Names, addresses etc. are always filed separately.
